Message From Sidd Murray-Clark／シド・マリークラークからのメッセージ
“Creativity always reflects how nature and our inner nature are intimately – and vitally – connected.
It is an opportunity to remember the play of spirit and the spirit of play, to see again how we are part of this ‘limitless connectivity’ called existence.
The act of making art is about finding out – and finding in.
I use different media, to find the materials to best support the subject or vision.
My creative process involves both distillation as well as spontaneous exploration.
I look for the essence of an idea or image, to touch the heart of it.
I have found many parallels between this process and my meditation.
I find that the balance between being present and letting go lies at the heart of both”.
クリエイティビティは、自然と私たちの内側がいかに親密かつ絶対的につながっているかを常に映し出しています。
「遊び心（スピリット）」と「心（スピリット）の遊び」を思い出し、わたしたち自身が「存在」と呼ばれる「制限のない繋がり」の一部であることを再び思い出す機会でもあります。
アートを創るという行為は、外側に見出すことであると同時に、内側に見出すことでもあります。
表現する対象やビジョンに最適なサポートになる素材を探すために、私は異なる媒体を使います。
私のクリエイティブプロセスは、蒸留のような作業を伴うと同時に、自発的な探求でもあります。
私は、アイデアやイメージの中心（ハート）に触れるため、その本質を探しにいきます。
このクリエイティブプロセスと私自身の瞑想の間に、数多くの類似点を見つけてきました。
「今に在ること」と「手放すこと」の間にあるバランスは、それぞれの中心に位置しているのです。
シド・マリークラーク アートの紹介
シドのアートは、自然と自己の内なる自然、その両者の関係の探求にあります。
様々な媒体を使うことで、材料が絵のテーマやヴィジョンを上手く表現できる助けとします。
彼にとってのクリエイティブなプロセスとは、探求と蒸留と言えます。
このプロセスを通して、アイデアやイメージの本質を追及し、その真髄を表現することができます。
シドの作品の中には、本質に至ることを目的とした削除を試みるために、抽象的な形に働きかけることがあります。
このプロセスと自己の瞑想との間に、たくさんの類似点を彼は発見しています。

Sidd Murray-Clark is an artist, designer and teacher who works and exhibits his art in Asia and Europe.
シド・マリークラークは、アーティスト、デザイナー、そしてティーチャーであり、
アジアやヨーロッパで自身の作品を発表しています。
Sidd is an artist writer and teacher.
He shares his creativity to help expand consciousness and sensibility in people’s lives and their environment.
シドはアーティストであり、またライター、ティーチャーでもあります。
彼は自らのクリエイティビティを分かち合うことで 人々の人生や環境における感受性と意識の広がりを助けます。
彼は内面の世界と外の世界の両方を探求し、その二つの世界の間にある生き生きしたつながりに働きかけます。
BIOGRAPHY
Sidd was born in Edinburgh, Scotland.
His very early years were spent in Singapore, before returning to England for his formal education.
He studied stage design for theatre and television and received a degree at Central School of Art, London.
He then received a post-graduate diploma in art education at London University, and a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship.
His creative life has involved landscape and architectural design as well as writing, illustration and graphic design for publishing, while living in many countries both East and West.
He currently lives in Japan, holding exhibitions and teaching inspirational creativity workshops.
＜経歴＞
スコットランド・エディンバラで生まれる。
幼少期をシンガポールで過ごした後、イングランドに戻り教育を受ける。
ロンドンのセントラルスクール・オブ・アートにて、舞台デザインの学位を取得。
後に、カルースト・グルベンキアン財団の奨学金を受け、ロンドン大学のアート教育における大学院学位を取得。
シドの創作活動は、多くの国における在住経験の間に、景観設計や建築デザイン、執筆、出版物のイラストレーションやグラフィックデザインなど多岐にわたる。
２００６年より兵庫県西宮に在住。
